In honor of the United Nations鈥 International #EducationDay, we brought together a panel of experts to discuss the potential impact of teaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in schools, and provide educators with tangible steps to make it happen in their own schools. Moderated by a renowned conservationist and former Green School Bali parent and 鈥楢ctivist in Residence鈥 on campus, Alexandra Cousteau, panelists include Bill Sal Gordon, Green School Bali鈥檚 Head of School, Courtney Kimmel, Vice President at the ; Elizabeth Crawford, ambassador and Associate Professor at University of North Carolina at Wilmington; Kinvara Jardine Paterson, Senior Campaign Manager at and Mike Long, Director of Operations .

Our students develop a healthy relationship with food from an early age, grow and cook their own food, and learn the impact of their eating and consuming habits on themselves and on the environment around them. On World Food Day, 2020 Green School Bali hosted Orin Hardy – Co-founder of , Simon Jongenotter – Creator of food at & Founder of , and Ida Rahayu – 天堂TV’s Food Education teacher for a Live Discussion on the role of food in our lives and how we can all become more conscious and ethical in our growing, eating and waste management practices.
